Resolutions

With the new year comes resolutions.  To be blunt, I generally hate resolutions because no one (me) ever keeps them past January.  Last year, my single goal for the year was to graduate and get a job.  Check, check.  This year, I want to focus more on my daily life activities (if that even makes sense).  I've found that for me, vague goals such as "I'm going to be healthier this year" just  do NOT work.  I need specific goals that are manageable.  Thus, this year, I've decided that each month I'm going to focus on something different.  (In the hopes that I can get more accomplished and not become bored and give up.  Not that that has ever happened or anything)...

For the month of January, my goal is to jog everyday.  I HATE jogging.  I always have, and I suspect I always will.  BUT, I wanted my goal to be something hard but manageable.  So, for the first week, I jogged a 1/2 mile every day.  (Yeah, you read that right.  A HALF mile).  I wasn't kidding when I said I hated jogging. My hope is that I can build up stamina and jog more distances each week.  Who knows, by the end of the month, I could be jogging 4-7 miles with Dave every other day.  (HA!)  He amazes me.

Dave's goal for the month is to only eat out once a week (Saturdays).  So far we're doing really well.  It's caused us to make more variety of foods and it's a lot easier on our wallets.  Not to say it isn't really hard though.  We went to Taste of India last Saturday and I have to say I've been craving it ever since.  Curse you delicious butter chicken and naan.  Ah...the naan.

Also, I started up a new 365 photo challenge.  I've done two in the past and desperately wanted to do one last year, but with student teaching, it just wasn't going to happen.  It's quite a commitment, but I love it and it reminds me to be grateful for the little things in life.  If you're interested in following this year, here is the link.

Good luck to all those working towards a better you this year!
