Bridger Lake August 2009

Wow. Get ready for picture overload! I don't like to just pick and choose which pictures I want tp post, so I post ALL of them! This past weekend, I was able to go camping with the Eddy side of the family. Unfortunately, Dave was unable to come because of work. I had such a fun time with my family. We don't see the Eddy side of the family much, so that made it even more fun. We spent the weekend golfing (no pictures of that, sorry), fishing, reading, playing games and chilling around the campfire. It was a much needed weekend getaway. Now that school has started, I don't think I'll be able to relax like that for quite awhile. Here are some pictures from my camping adventures! Dad and I. The sun was in our eyes. I really was happy to be there, honest.

This is Bridger Lake. It was so pretty.

My family fishing along the bank of the lake. My Uncle Gordon is in the red at the end, then Uncle Brent is in the blue, then Walker (Kayla's boyfriend) then Kayla in the Plaid, and Uncle Lou in the white. This is basically what we did the whole time. So relaxing and fun! My poor Dad practically spent the whole time untangling the fishing poles. LOL. I bet he is so happy he got three girls! :)

My beautiful cast.

Carlie spent the majority of the trip taking pictures. I love her red hair.
Waiting and waiting

I caught one! Yay!

The sunset on the lake.

Carlie was sad because I caught a fish and she didn't.

Real sad....LOL

She caught one the next day though. All is right in the world again. :)

Her fish, and her gross hands. She gutted and cleaned her fish. Eww

Megan making her "secret" dessert for the family. It was peanut butter chololate bars. Yum!

Here's the fish that we all caught.

Megan eating the fish that she caught. She even liked it! SHOCKER!

Me eating my fish. I am NOT a fan of fish but I wanted to try it, and I actually liked it. My Uncle Brent put a buch of spices on it and stuff.

Carlie and I goofing around in the trailer

Lol. I think we had a little too much fun.

Carlie and I went on a mini hike. Heres the view from it. Bridger Lake is at the very bottom. All you can see are the lily pads on the top of the lake.

Another view from our hike.

There were a TON of lily pads on the edges of the lake.

So pretty. All of the trees were orange because they are dying, NOT because of them changing colors for Fall. Some type of beetle is killing all of the trees. It was sad.

This tree was so cool looking. I love this picture

Carlie roasting her apple.

We all made fun of her idea, but it actually turned out really good. After roasting it, she cut it up and put brown sugar on it. I sure love Carlie's wacky ideas.
So, that was my weekend getaway. And now, it's back to work and school. Oh Joy! :)

Sudoku Cake

Big Dave's birthday was on august 19th and this is the cake that I made him. He is a huge sudoku fan, so I thought it would be fun to make him a sudoku cake. Those lines were so hard to keep straight! If I ever make another sudoku cake, I'll be using a bigger cake to work with. It worked out in the end though....just a little cramped! :) (FYI, it is an actual sudoku puzzle, for anyone who cares).

Winnie the Pooh Puzzle

This is a boring post but I thought I would post it anyways, mainly because this puzzle has practically consumed my summer. I started this puzzle at the beginning of the summer and I just barely finished it this past weekend. So I just have to say Congrats to myself. It was quite the puzzle. It doesn't look like it would be hard but it was. So, like all my other puzzles, I glued it, so I can proudly display it as the Summer 2009 puzzle. It was difficult, but I love it. The end.

Grandpa Call and Guitar Hero

After going out to dinner to celebrate some family birthdays, we came home to have cake and ice cream. Carlie was playing Guitar Hero and my Grandpa played with her! I don't think I've ever seen a Grandpa play that game! I just had to take pictures of it. These will be pictures to cherish! They are not the best quality, but I thought they were fun. (he could actually play it!) I was impressed! Go Grandpa!

Chess Cake

Yesterday we celebrated Adam, Austin and my Dads birthdays. Here is the cake that we made to celebrate. This cake was the most frustrating cake I have EVER made. (mind you, I had only slept for about four hours the night before and I was up until about midnight the night after trying to finish it). No sleep for Ash=choice words said to the cake. Funny story actually. I was trying to cover the HUGE cake with fondant and it just kept ripping! I was getting so frustrated with it, that I swore at my cake. (don't judge me. I can't be the first person to swear at a cake.) Dave must have thought it was pretty funny because after I swore at it this is what he said "hahahaha, Ash, I don't want to hear you complain about me swearing at my computer games anymore. You just swore at a pastry dish!" I have to admit, after hearing this I stood back and had a good laugh at myself. Ahh, I love my husband. He's always there to make me laugh. Anyways, with the help of my amazing family, the cake was finished! Many thanks to Mom, Megan, and my hubby for helping to get it finished. I owe you. I came up with the idea for this cake months ago so I was so glad that it turned out. And, most importantly, everyone loved it! Happy Birthday!
