I thought that the flag with the trees surrounding it was so pretty. It was a cold and rainy day, but so beautiful.

Just a random close up of all of us...a weird picture, I know. I really like it...don't mind my acne....my skin is not a fan of close ups. :)

It is so BIG!! It was about as big as I had imagined it would be. It was a beautiful sight.

Empire State Building

We were able to go to the top floor of the Empire State Building. I highly recommend going at night. It was beautiful.

Macy's

We did some shopping the second day in New York and Macy's was our first stop. I know that we have Macy's in Utah...but WOW, this is NO Utah Macy's! This department store was HUGE, as in 9 floors huge. It just kept going and going!! We spent well over 4 hours here! Dave would have died....this was definitely a GIRLS vacation. ;)

New York-The Met

So December flew by and I can't believe it is 2010 already. A lot has happened in the past few weeks. I spent a week in New York with my mom and sisters, and IT WAS WONDERFUL! I missed Dave SO MUCH but it was so nice to spend some "girl time" with my family. As you know, I am horrible at deciding what pictures to post, SO......you get a photo overload! yay! We did so many things in New York. It is so different from Utah, but so fun. I would recommend a trip to New York to anyone. It was wonderful to visit, but I could never live there. There is something about that place.....it's so busy all of the time and there are people everywhere...many people LOVE New York for those qualities, I just wasn't used to it. ANYWAYS......I'll post my trip in several posts so they are not so long and boring...much like this post has already become. (; The first day that we were there, we went to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Here are a few pictures from the night.It was pouring rain the first night. This is what my pants looked like after we got back to our hotel. SOAKED!!

Plans for December

Wow....3 posts in one day! Woot! I'm on a roll!! Well, finals are this week and I couldn't be happier. This has been a tough semester. I'm so excited for a break. This month is going to be busy, (December usually is for everyone). We have so much stuff planned for the month. To kick off my wonderful break I will be going here........

So I finally got some time to put up our Christmas decorations. December sneeked up on me this year. Here are some pictures of our tree in all it's glory. I love it. It's possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen....I love it THAT much. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. The best part, was being out of school for a couple of days. We had Thanksgiving dinner with both families this year. We first went to Dave's parents and then to my Grandma and Gradnpas. We were so stuffed by the end of the day, but it was WONDERFUL. It was a great day full of food and family. :) Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the actual festivities....we were enjoying ourselves too much.

On the Friday after Thanksgiving, we got up early and headed out to my parents new condo in Mesquite. We helped them move some furniture in over the weekend. We were there from Friday to Sunday. We spent all of Friday moving in and then we just spent Saturday and Sunday relaxing in the hot tub, going out to eat, watching movies, playing games, reading, and bascially doing whatever we wanted. It is a really cute condo and I can tell that it will get a lot of use! I'm so excited that my parents were in the position to get this condo. A lot of good memories will be made there. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

So, this semester has been pretty crazy and I have spent a lot of my time on a huge project for my Teaching Elementary Health Education class. I had to prepare and give a 45 minute lesson plan to my class (who had to pretend to be a group of Elementary students). I was SO worried about this assignment becasue I had never given such a LONG presentation before. I spent countless hours preparing handouts, figuring out what to do for my bulletin board, and just making sure that I had enough planned to fill up the entire 45 minutes. It was my turn to teach the class last night and can I just say....IT WAS AWESOME!! I cannot wait to become a teacher! I was so worried about it going well, but everything just went so smoothly and I felt so great about it! (I know I sound like I'm tooting my own horn here, I was just really happy about it). If you know me at all, you know that I have worked really hard on doing well in school this semester and it just makes me happy to see the hard work pay off. Anyway....I just had to share that it went well so when I have to give another one, I can look back at this post and know that "YES! I CAN do this!!"

Best thing ever made?????

The DISHWASHER!!!!

So, for the past year+, Dave and I have been without a dishwasher and have handwashed our dishes. Can I just say that I HATE doing the dishes. It is the worst chore EVER!!!! We also have been without a full sized refrigerator. Here is a picture of what we have been using thus far.....

This lovely little ditty has been the humble home of our food for the past year. It is a wonderful little fridge. With some major handywork, it will store a gallon of milk, a jar of salsa, mayo, mustard, salad dressing, a bag of salad, butter, jam, four containers of yougurt, a dozen eggs (this one takes skill), a SMALL package of cheese, and some deli meat. Now....once you get everything into the fridge, the REAL trick is getting it to shut without having all the food fall off of the shelves. THEN, when you want to get something out, be sure to do so in a delicate manner...one false move and everything could fall out. Oh, and one more thing...beware of putting any food on the top shelf..unless you want whatever you put up there to be frozen.

My parents were so gracious and decided to get a full size fridge for the basement kitchen. And I must say that I have never been so excited about a fridge in my life!! It is so awesome! We can have a gallon of milk AND a container of juice AT THE SAME TIME!!! WOW!!....amazing!

DISHWASHER!!!!

The dishwasher has taken the place of our lovely little fridge that I so fondly spoke about earlier. In the past few days I have discovered that there is no better sound than that of a running dishwasher....life is wonderful my friends...life is wonderful.

Halloween 2009

We had a pretty boring Halloween this year. We have no children so Halloween is kind of a lame holiday. I did manage to take a few pictures though. I always like to dress up for Halloween even if all I do is stay home and hand out candy. Halloween is afterall, one of my favorite holidays. So here are a few pictures from the nights festivities...muahahahhahaa.... :)
